Our menopause assessment is offered through our partner Stella to give you a faster service. The assessment asks you questions about your symptoms, medical history, lifestyle and preferences. We use your answers to prescribe the right treatments for you.

Your GP looks at your answers and prescribes treatment if it is right for you, such as hormone replacement therapy (HRT).

Your lifestyle can help your symptoms too. You can use the Stella menopause support app for free for 12 months. It explains how to help your symptoms, manage stress, sleep better, eat healthily and move more.

Getting started

You need a government-issued photo ID and your height, weight and blood pressure. Take your blood pressure reading at the local pharmacy, GP surgery or at home.

Your results

Click the get started button below to start your assessment. It takes 10 minutes and your results are sent to your GP. They will contact you within one week. Contact them if you do not hear back.

Download the Stella app

You have free access to the Stella menopause app for 12 months. It suggests lifestyle changes to help you manage your symptoms. You get a coach, menopause information and much more.

FAQs

Why are we doing this?

We are experiencing increased demand for menopause support. The Stella online menopause assessment helps us understand which treatment is right for you, such as hormone replacement therapy (HRT). It may mean we can offer you menopause treatment faster.

Who created the clinical assessment?

This new assessment that has been developed to support clinical decision making. It is currently used outside of the NHS to stage menopause, assess symptoms and identify suggested treatments, including Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT). We want to use it with NHS patients to see if it can help our clinicians identify the right treatment for you, which may mean we can offer you treatment much faster than at present.

Who developed the clinical assessment?

The Stella clinical assessment has been created by a digital health company, Vira Health. We have partnered with them so we can offer this assessment to you.

It is an approved Category 1 Medical Device and certified for use by the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).

How does the assessment work?

– Click the “get started” button

– You are asked questions about your medical history, family history, lifestyle and treatment preferences

– Your results and treatment recommendation are sent to your GP for review

– Your GP will contact you

You also get free access to the Stella menopause support app for 12 months. The app helps you change your lifestyle, which will improve your menopause symptoms. It uses personalised exercises and psychological techniques to get healthier habits to stick, improving health now and in later life.

The app covers sleep issues, brain fog, mood changes, weight gain, hot flushes and sweats, bladder problems and low libido, plus much more.

What do you need for the assessment?

– 10 minutes to answer the questions

– Access to the internet – if you require assistance filling out the assessment, please contact the practice

– A government issued photo ID as you need to verify your identity

– Your height and weight

– A blood pressure reading from the last 6 months

What happens to your data?

Your responses are sent to your GP, who will keep a copy on your personal record. Any patient identifiable data that you enter into the assessment will be deleted. Stella may be provided anonymised data from the questionnaire to inform their product development but this will not include your personal identifiable information.
